Curriculum
The Todwick School curriculum is a carefully designed programme, which leads the children on a bespoke educational journey through the primary years. We enhance the national curriculum through engaging activities with real-life links and active learning including Learning Outside the Classroom (LOTC) where possible. We have built a curriculum which lies at the heart of our school. Through meticulous planning and a flexible approach to curriculum delivery, we are able to drive our intent, fulfil our aims and support our ethos for engaging, memorable learning.
In our bespoke curriculum, we utilise our own planning alongside some carefully chosen published schemes to enhance teaching in some foundation subjects. This way, we ensure rigorous coverage and implementation of substantiative and disciplinary knowledge in meaningful, age-appropriate ways at each stage through school.
Our curriculum is an abitious curriculum, which is built around the objectives set out in the National Curriculum and covers the following subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, Computing, History, Geography, Art and Design, Design Technology, Music, Physical Education, Languages (French), Religious Education and Citizenship, which includes RSHE and PSHE. Parents have the right to writhdraw their children from RE lessons.
